Domaines & Vineyards, established in 2009, is a collaboration between Rob Bowen, Stewart Sampson and David Rado, hand crafting unique wines from the premium Western Australian wine regions of Margaret River and Pemberton.
The aim of the company, and the reason, we feel, behind the success of our company is our focus on offering wines to wine drinkers that we love to drink ourselves. We have a passion of Western Australia, and spend our time amongst the vineyards, forests and beaches of the South West.
We enjoy drinking wines that reflect a sense of place, wines with a story, from vineyards with a history. Through his 39 vintage career mostly in the Western Australian wine industry, Rob has helped establish, and make wines from many of the finest vineyards in Margaret River, Pemberton and Great Southern regions.
A native of Pemberton, David and wife Monica have farmed Pemberton for over 30 years, and share an affinity with the region, its produce and its people. Dave and Rob have had a working relationship for 11 years, respectively growing grapes and making wine from Dave's vineyards in Pemberton.
Stewart is originally from the small coastal town of Condingup on the South Coast of Western Australia. Stewart has worked with Dave and Rob in the wine industry for 6 years establishing and operating vineyards in Pemberton and Margaret River. Stewart handles the sales, marketing and administration of the business, and is based jointly in Perth and in China. Stewart has spent his life working, fishing and diving on the South coast of Western Australia.
Together, the team collectively brings over 70 years of wine industry experience and passion to Pemberton and Margaret River vineyards in the never ending quest for excellence.
The first vintage to be released by Domaines & Vineyards was the 2009 Pemberley range, with great success, as evidenced by rave reviews and wine show awards. The 2009 Pemberley Chardonnay was recently awarded three trophies at the Timber Towns Wine Show, including Wine of Show. Building on the great success of the Pemberley range, we recently released the Point Peron, Picaroon and Waterfall labels. April 2011 will see the release of the much anticipated Robert Bowen signature range. This will include a Pemberton Sauvignon Blanc and a Margaret River Chardonnay, wild barrel fermented wines from 160 year old cellars.
